About

Following the huge success of Cave Cinema last year, our friends at Kents Cavern are back with three nights of underground films, including both Agatha Christie all-star classics and some cult films in the comedy murder mystery genre. And you will be watching them in the very caves that inspired Hampsly Cavern in The Man in the Brown Suit!

Saturday 7 September

Knives Out (2019). 6pm

When renowned crime novelist Harlan Thrombey (Christopher Plummer) is found dead at his estate just after his 85th birthday, the inquisitive and debonair Detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) is mysteriously enlisted to investigate. Written and directed by Rian Johnson. 12A

Death on the Nile (1978). 8.30pm.

As Hercule Poirot (Sir Peter Ustinov) enjoys a luxurious cruise down the Nile, a newlywed heiress is found murdered on board. Can Poirot identify the killer before the ship reaches the end of its journey? John Guillermin. PG

Tuesday 10 September

Evil Under the Sun (1982). 6pm

Sir Peter Ustinov returns as Poirot to solve a mysterious death in a glamorous hotel in the Mediterranean. The star-studded cast includes Maggie Smith, Jane Birkin, James Mason, Roddy McDowall and Dianna Rigg. Directed by Guy Hamilton. PG

Clue (1985). 8.30pm

A group of characters are summoned to a mysterious mansion where they discover that they are all blackmail victims. An evening of confusion follows as characters fall victim to murder and the survivors attempt to discover the killer, in this black comedy murder mystery based on the game of Cluedo/Clue. PG.

Wednesday 11 September

Murder on the Orient Express (1974). 6pm

Having concluded a case, detective Hercule Poirot (Albert Finney) settles into what he expects will be a relaxing journey home aboard the Orient Express. However, when an unpopular billionaire is murdered en-route everyone on board the train is a suspect. Directed by Sidney Lumet. PG

See How They Run (2022) 8.30pm

In 1950s London, plans for a movie version of a smash-hit play come to an abrupt halt after a pivotal member of the crew is murdered. When a world-weary inspector and an eager rookie constable take on the case, they find themselves thrown into a puzzling whodunit within the glamorously sordid world of underground theatre. 12

Pop-up underground cinema offers a unique experience like no other! Sit back, relax, and watch a movie in a deckchair in Britain's Oldest Home! It's been home to Neanderthals and Ice Age animals including woolly mammoths, bears & lions. You'll be immersed in this incredible environment as you're entertained...Plus they have a Cave Bar!!!

Screenings 6pm and 8:30pm.
