There are plenty of things to do in and around the English Riviera, whether your group is looking for excitement or the opportunity to relax and unwind.
There really is so much to choose from, with many attractions open all year round to keep everyone entertained. From beaches to a lively waterfront, country parks to caves, sailing lessons to golf courses, the English Riviera has something for everyone at any time of year.
In addition to the many attractions on offer, the English Riviera can offer a number of sporting activities to suit all tastes. From beginner to professional level, first class flat green and short mat bowls are available all year round at a number of indoor and outdoor venues in the Bay. Bowling holidays are also available at some hotels with dedicated facilities.
If you are a golf enthusiast, there are some of the finest golf courses in the West Country within an hour's drive. Closer to home, venues such as the Cayman Golf course in Churston (01803) 845909 and Torbay Golf Centre in Torquay (01803) 528728 offer first class facilities all year round.
If you feel the need to shop, there are plenty of pedestrian areas and a good selection of unique and individual shops as well as all the main high street stores that you will find at the heart of any shopper's paradise!
A suggested itinerary:
Living Coasts is a unique attraction about life on the edge (quite literally!) between land and sea. The huge meshed aviary allows birds to fly free over your head, while underwater tunnels give spectacular views of the birds and seals from beneath.
After the tour, stop for a bite to eat in the cafe enjoying panoramic views of the Bay. In the afternoon, head for another favourite, the Babbacombe Model Village. This attraction offers visitors an "ever changing world of miniaturisation" with models, famous landmarks and gardens all in 1/12th scale.
Located just up the road is Bygones life size Victorian Street, where you can wander back in time and take a shopping trip with a difference. Bygones is full of original Victorian artefacts and provides nostalgic memories of days gone by. Before leaving the beautiful areas of Babbacombe and St Marychurch why not browse around the pretty shopping streets and take in the views from Babbacombe Downs.
