More murder, mystery and mayhem is being planned on the English Riviera this year, with the fourth annual Agatha Christie Festival taking place between Sunday 14th and Saturday 20th September.
The undisputed Queen of Crime was born in Torquay in 1890 and the festival marks the anniversary of her birth on September 15th.
Agatha Christie has sold more than two billion books, which have been translated into over 70 languages, making her the most widely published author of all time. Remarkably, she is only outsold by the Bible and Shakespeare. In celebration of this fact, the English Riviera host the annual Agatha Christie Festival with more than 40 events across this stunning resort.
The festival attracts Christie fans from across the globe, with a range of exciting events planned to celebrate the life of this remarkable woman. Once again there will be walks, talks, tea dance, boat trips, as well as a whole host of new events for 2008, on what would have been her 118th birthday.
Join in with an Agatha Christie Book Club. Pick up a free copy of Agatha Christie's The Detectives from locations around the Bay to read short stories featuring the cream of Agatha Christie's sleuths.
