Things to Do
Goodrington
In between the English Riviera towns of Paignton and Brixham, the area of Goodrington makes for a fun family day out.
To the north lies Goodrington Sands – one of the most popular beaches of the English Riviera. Its iconic red sands are a great place to pitch your deckchair and enjoy the fine weather we get here in South Devon. The relatively warm waters off this award winning beach meanwhile are perfect for indulging your passion for watersports, or even trying wind-surfing or wakeboarding for the first time.
The water-based fun continues at the nearby Splashdown@Quaywest Waterpark. Its eight waterslides and separate swimming pools for adults and children make it a fun and enjoyable place to take your family for the afternoon.
Explore Goodrington, past and present
The English Riviera is one of only a handful of areas in the UK which has been awarded UNESCO Global Geopark status. As you explore Goodrington, keep in mind that it has a history that dates back more than 280 million years. That’s before the first dinosaurs walked the earth!
At Goodrington’s Seashore Centre you and your family can discover the incredible story behind the English Riviera, South Devon’s beautiful bay. Entrance is free, and the centre features fun interactive technology to bring the area’s marine nature and history to life.
Round off your day with a ride on pedal-powered boats at Goodrington Boating Lakes or treat the kids to some fast-paced fun at Goodrington Go Karts.
