Boasting a delightful alternative to the hustle and bustle of Torquay, there are still plenty of things to do in Babbacombe for all ages and tastes.

Situated on top of the stunning red sandstone cliffs, the village offers holidaymakers an insight into the traditional and olde worlde charm of the English Riviera, South Devon’s beautiful bay.

Outdoor pursuits

Days out in Babbacombe can be taken up with peaceful strolls around the small and tranquil village, which is dotted with independent shops, boutiques, cosy tearooms and exciting attractions. There are also a host of pretty coastal and woodland walks to choose from offering spectacular views and a treasure trove of hidden coves and tranquil settings.

The two beautiful golden and unspoiled beaches of Oddicombe and Babbicome are host to all sorts of water sports from fishing to jet skiing and also provide visitors with the perfect setting to lie back and take in the relaxing and peaceful surroundings.

A step back in time

As well as the many sights and stunning settings to enjoy there are also plenty of charismatic attractions to explore, including the popular Babbacombe Model Village, which features thousands of miniature buildings encapsulating the essence of all things British.

Built in 1926 the Babbacombe Cliff Railway is also a popular attraction, providing passengers with spectacular vistas as it travels up and down the 240-foot cliff face to Oddicombe beach.

Find the unexpected at Bygones with three floors of pure nostalgia for all the family. Wander back in time, visit an authentic, life-size Victorian street including forge, sweet shop & apothecary.
