There’s something for everyone to enjoy, from music events to the arts, and food and drink to sporting festivals. Many of the English Riviera events are firm fixtures on the calendar: here are some of the best to look out for when planning your holiday.
Brixham Pirate Festival
For some serious fun during your holiday make sure you head down to Brixham in May. Here, you’ll find more piratey fun than you can shake a wooden leg at – and you might even get to be part of a world record! There’s live music, games, re-enactments and fancy dress.
BMAD
Over May Bank Holiday, Paignton Green transforms into a thrilling mix of motorbike spectacles from Bikers Make A Difference. There are awe-inspiring stunts, a beer tent and of course the motorbikes themselves.
Babbacombe Festival
Fun for all the family! Taking place in June on the Babbacombe Downs, you’ll find live music and entertainment, a German oompah evening with beer tent, plenty of award-winning fish and chips and loads more.
Regatta Season
If you’re here in the summer you’ll be in for a treat during regatta season. There’s world-class sailing during Torbay Week, as well as fun fairs, rowing races, carnivals, fireworks and the Red Arrows.
Agatha Christie Festival
A highlight of the English Riviera events calendar, the Agatha Christie Festival is a week of murder, mystery and mayhem celebrating the life and works of the Queen of Crime, born in Torquay in 1890.
