The Zeefakkel
De Zeefakkel was built as a Rijksopnemingsvaartuig at J. & K. Smit in Kinderdijk. The Zeefakkel was launched on 21 JULY 1950. For the first time the ship was put into service on March 16, 1951 as Hr.Ms. Zeefakkel. The task of the Zeefakkel at that time was to make SEA CARDS of the North Sea.

Facts
The Zeefakkel is 45.38 long and 7.50 meters wide and has a draft of 2.20 meters. The Zeefakkel had two main engines of the brand Stork Werkspoor 6 cylinder diesels together accounted for 800 hp, and two Daf diesel generator sets for the power supply. The Zeefakkel has 49 SLAAPPATS for officers, officers, civil instructors and of course cadets.
