Torquay United is the local football club on The English Riviera. They play their home games at Plainmoor stadium near St Marychurch. The club was orignially formed in 1899 and has long been known for playing in the lower leagues of the national football tier. In the 2019/2020 season, Torquay United will be playing in the the National League, the fifth tier of English football, after winning the National League South during the 2018–19 season.
Torquay United play in a yellow and blue kit, known to the local supporters as the 'Gulls and sometimes the "yellow and blue army"!

Plainmoor Stadium is situated in St. Marychurch, a suburb of Torquay and is within walking distance of Torquay town centre.
By Train: Torre Station is the nearest rail stop to Plainmoor. There is then a 20-25 minute walk for those wanting a slightly challenging journey to Plainmoor.
By Car: The new South Devon Link Road has aided fans getting to Plainmoor. It runs from Newton Abbot to Torquay and is a much-needed improvement for home and away fans.

Fans wanting to pay by card will need to visit the TUFC ticket office before kick-off. The office is situated on the side of the ground where you will also find Plainmoor Swimming Pool.
On this side of the club you will also find main reception and match day reception.
If you book for a pre-match meal then you will enter through our designated corporate hospitality entrance to gain access to our No.10s Restaurant. Your meal ticket will be checked by a steward before you walk up some stairs and turn left to enjoy your meal.

Riviera Rentals Away Turnstile (Standing & Seating, Away Fans Only)
Our turnstiles for away fans is situated just off Warbro Road, with a slight walk down a quiet lane. Turnstiles are cash only (see ticket office for card payments).
Sunday Independent Family Stand / Bristows Bench (Seating, Home Fans Only)
The turnstiles for the Sunday Independent Family Stand / Bristows Bench are located behind the Swimming Pool on Bronshill Road, to the right of the club shop.
Thatchers Popular Terrace (Standing Only, Home Fans Only)

The history of Torquay United begins with the merging of Ellacombe, Babbacombe and Torquay Town. The elevation of Exeter City and Plymouth Argyle to the Southern League at the end of World War I prompted the emergence of a new Torquay United in 1921, the one that we now know today.
