About

Written by Tim Firth
Directed by Julie Hancocks

A COMEDY DRAMA

Bonfire night, and Sheila, Denise, Julie and Fay are a team on the Pennine Mineral Water’s annual outward-bound weekend. The ladies have elected Sheila as their team leader, and she has used her cryptic crossword skills to totally misinterpret the clues. As a result, the ladies find themselves marooned on an island in the middle of Derwentwater.

Using their ingenuity, the ladies construct tools, shelter and a rescue flag from the contents of Julie’s cavernous rucksack. Questions are asked, and frustrations aired as the ladies attempt to survive on Sheila’s Island.

This amateur production of Sheila’s Island is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Ltd on behalf of Samuel French Ltd.
