Paignton Harbour Festival Day

About Us

Paignton Harbour was established in the 18th Century, the local Council has managed the harbour since 1935.  Paignton was a thriving fishing harbour for many years and some of the old traditions of seamanship are kept alive and passed on through generations of locals.  Today the harbour remains a hive of activity, especially during the summer months & a vast range of different users enjoy the benefits of this unassuming maritime gem. Its understated beauty and authentic ‘fishing haven’ feel are often overlooked by visitors and some locals.

One day of free family fun, for locals and visitors alike, in aid of the Fishermans Mission including a demo stage with fantastic local chefs including Silla Bjerrum using the best local produce, music from live bands all day and evening, childrens circus skills workshops, bouncy castle, a variety food and craft stalls, boat races, fishing on Fairy Cove and a visit from the RNLI lifeboat as well as the maritime history of the Harbour.

Paignton Pleasure Cruises will be operating a ferry from Torquay and Brixham, from 9am, so avoid the traffic and arrive in style by sea!

Pop up restaurant "The Picking Room" with a local seafood menu cooked by chef Nigel Bloxham takes place on Friday 27th July. Tickets go on sale shortly.
