About Us

Celebrate The English Riviera UNESCO-recognised Global Geopark at this years Geopark Festival . A wide range of events will be available to visitors and residents at a number of locations across the bay.
There's a range of events all week that can help you enjoy, explore and experience all of the different aspects of the Geopark.

Cockington Court Sculpture Trail 18 Launch Week - Cockington Court

Follow the Art Path around Cockington Court.  18 selected local artists will exhibit over 25 sculptures using various materials from stone, metal, found objects and junk. Collect a trail map from the Visitor Welcome Point.  The trail is open until the 9th September.

Stone Age Cave Painting by Torchlight - Torquay Museum

Become a stone-age cave artist and make your own cave painting by torchlight with the Squircle Arts team at Torquay Museum. Handle stone-age tools, skulls and pots, and make your own stone-age vessel from clay.

Street Art Fossils - Torre Abbey

Use Devon soils to draw Devonian fossils. Coloured pastels have been hand made from local materials including Watcombe Clay, Bovey Clay and charcoal. Choose a fossil and draw it straight on to the ground where it came form. Artist David Harbott will be talking about fossils as a clue to helping us understand geological time-scales and how that relates to current climate. Hand made pavement pastels are provided. We will be using the handling collection from Torquay Museum as primary source material. 
This is a family drop in session for 3 years plus.

Rockpool Ramble May - Goodrington Beach

Join our Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust marine ranger and explore the incredible marine life that lives in Torbay's rock pools. Discover feisty crabs, slimy anemones, wriggly starfish, sneaky prawns and more in the rock pools of Middlestone!
