The decision to cancel, made by Torbay Council was not been made lightly, however they have said that they must listen to their public safety advisory members concerns.

Torbay Council hope that with adherence to event documentation deadlines and plans that this event can take place in future years, however on this occasion deadlines were not met, potentially leaving public safety at risk.

NEW EVENT

This exciting new two-day family friendly motorbike weekend is being staged between 29th April and 1st May on Paignton Green, which is situated on Paignton Seafront in South Devon. Paignton Green is a very popular event space situated directly overlooking the sea and right next to Paignton’s long sandy beach and historic Victorian Pier.

We are expecting hundreds of motorcycle enthusiasts and spectators of all ages from across the country to come along to this exciting new event whether it be for the weekend or for a day and we would love if you could join us. For lovers of live music, you will not be disappointed with our many local pubs and bars including the Spinning Wheel providing music throughout the weekend. The new English Riviera Bike Festival is being organised by local Paignton businesses and will also be supported by reputable dealers, traders’ selling clothing and accessories and Food & Drink stalls to ensure a great weekend. 

A donation of £5 per bike is being asked for entry to park on the seafront promenade to help towards the costs of staging this new event. With hundreds of bikes parked on the promenade this is quite a spectacle enjoyed by all ages. There is no charge for pedestrians.  

On Paignton Green you are surrounded by an excellent choice of local pubs, bars, beachside kiosks, cafes, restaurants, bed and breakfasts, guest houses and hotels and we would love if you could come and stay for the weekend.
