Winkle Cottage is a lovely, 3 bedroomed self-catering property set within the hillside town of Brixham in South Devon. The attractive pastel-coloured exterior is a welcoming sight from the roadside and as soon as you enter this cosy, 19th century restored fisherman’s cottage, the sea-themed contemporary décor, stone walls and features create the most relaxing and alluring ambience.
This charming coastal retreat welcomes families with babies and children and provides retractable baby gates, and use of a high chair, travel cot and toy box with books during the stay.
The English Riviera is a dog-friendly resort with plenty of year-round beaches, restaurants, cafes, bars and visitor attractions welcoming your furry friend. Winkle Cottage accepts well-behaved dogs and responsible owners by prior notice.
There are 3 guest bedrooms which sleep up to 5 guests. The Master bedroom has a king-sized bed, deluxe chaise longue and a Samsung TV. The second guest room has a standard size double bed and the third room has a standard single bed. There is also a handy separate dressing area with dressing table, stool and a hairdryer. There is a double shower room with WC. Winkle Cottage is fully furnished with the latest technology and features include a 32” Samsung TV, audio speakers, Nest thermostat and smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.
There’s a delightful sun terrace for you to enjoy the Mediterranean-style climate and picturesque harbour and sea views, as well as the English Riviera’s surrounding 22 miles of coastline, which form part of the area’s designated UNESCO Global Geopark.
Brixham town centre and the bustling harbourside (0.8 miles) has an abundance of friendly pubs, family-run restaurants, award winning cafes and takeaways, all within a few minutes’ walk. Sample some of the region’s freshest and top-quality seafood, caught in local waters. For early risers take a tour of the famous Brixham Fish Market (0.6 miles) and see the auctioneers in full swing. Enjoy a leisurely stroll around the quayside and watch one of the largest fishing fleets in the UK offloading their daily catch. Take a trip to Greenway at Kingswear (4.8 miles), the holiday home of world-famous crime author, Agatha Christie and Coleton Fishacre (4.6 miles), an arts and craft styled country house and once the country home of the D'Oyly Carte family.
