Trentham Guest House offers a relaxed and friendly atmosphere for visitors wishing to stay in Paignton and the English Riviera. I welcome couples and families with infants or young children. I know how important your holiday is, so rest assured i will do my best for you, and create a home from home feel.
Our guest house has 3 double en-suite bedrooms, 1 twin with ensuite, a family room with en-suite and a double room with private bathroom.
Trentham Guest House is ideally situated in the heart of Paignton, an award-winning, family-friendly seaside destination. Paignton has plenty to offer with award-winning long sandy beaches; child-friendly visitor attractions such as Paignton Pier (0.2 miles); the multiplex Vue Cinema; a free outdoor adventure Geoplay Park; seasonal visiting fun fairs and an international touring circus. Paignton’s ‘Golden Mile’ Torbay Road (0.4 miles) is a haven for visitors with a range of indoor amusement arcades providing slot machines, games and children’s rides. Trentham Guest House is also with easy reach of Goodrington Sands (2.3 miles) where you’ll find Splashdown Quaywest Water Park; and Torbay Velopark (1.4 miles) for cycling.
Getting to the English Riviera is very easy, so whether you’re arriving by car, air, coach or train there are excellent transport links. The area is well served by through train services from London, Scotland, the North East, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol and Cardiff, delivered by GWR and Paignton Railway Station is only a 10-minute walk (0.9 miles) from Trentham Guest House. If you’re planning to arrive by National Express coach or intending to use the excellent local Stagecoach bus service, Paignton Bus Station is also only a 10-minute walk away.
Our ideal location is central for all activities in Paignton, across the bay and in the neighbouring towns of Torquay (2.2 miles) and Brixham (5.7 miles). This means that you are never far away from a coastal walk to access the famous South West Coast Path or to take a short bus ride to a wealth of top visitor attractions, award-winning beaches and the English Riviera UNESCO Global Geopark.
If you don't want to venture far, we are approximately 200 yds (0.4 miles) from Paignton Green, Paignton Pier and the beautiful Paignton beach and esplanade. Preston beach (0.5 miles), Paignton harbour (0.5 miles) and Goodrington Sands (2.3 miles) are within easy reach and can be accessed on foot. There are numerous pretty coves, secluded spots and picnic areas to explore within the 22 miles of stunning coastline.
If you have an interest in history, arts and culture, there are several museums in the bay that will appeal including Kents Cavern, a gateway site to the UNESCO Global Geopark (4.1 miles); Torquay Museum (3.2 miles); Torre Abbey Museum (2.5 miles) and Brixham’s The Golden Hind Replica Ship (6.7 miles) amongst many others. Berry Head National Nature Reserve (6.8 miles) in Brixham is another gateway site to the UNESCO Global Geopark with fantastic, panoramic views across Tor Bay and South Devon.
The English Riviera’s micro-climate means that the mild, continental-style weather provides the perfect conditions to explore the area all year round. The iconic palm trees and Green Flag awarded parks and gardens provide a lovely setting for walks and picnics.
