Disabled Accredited Accommodation
The beautiful English Riviera is a superb destination for a break at any time of the year. The region welcomes all visitors, not just the physically able and to ensure that we offer a warm welcome to all our visitors, a selection of our hotels and accommodation are Disabled Accredited under the National Accessible Scheme. This provides a variety of serviced and self-catering accommodation that is registered and regularly inspected to ensure that wheelchair users and the less able have full access to facilities.
Accessible accommodation
On the English Riviera there are hotels and self-catering locations that have been adapted to accommodate visitors with mobility and accessibility requirements. These hotels include such features as ramps to allow full access into the building through to wet rooms, lifts to ground floor rooms and hearing loops. There are also hotels and self-catering locations that have achieved NAS/DDA grades thanks to their dedication to welcoming and accommodating those visitors with mobility and access requirements. The NAS/DDA Scheme allows accommodation providers to display a rating to show that their property has been independently assessed and found to be conforming to rigorous standards of accessibility. Properties can be assessed under any one of three categories - Mobility, Visual and Hearing, levels 1-2/3. Level 1 represents the minimum standards and 2/3 represent the highest standards of excellence for disabled visitors.
Accessible attractions
Throughout Torquay, Paignton, Brixham and Babbacombe there are hotels and accommodation of all types to suit all needs. But it's not just the accommodation that ensures that everyone has access.
