Canoeing and Kayaking
Canoeing
Discover the English Riviera's 22 miles of coastline at sea level in a canoe! You'll be able to get up close and personal with all manner of marine and birdlife, and appreciate our many weird and wonderful rock formations from the best focal point - the sea.
How?
If you don't own a canoe, there are various excursions you can take part in, including the fantastic Canoe the Coves expedition organised by the Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust.
Kayaking
The next step up from regular canoeing, sea kayaking is a great way to explore the inlets of the English Riviera in a versatile vessel. You'll be able to negotiate the rocky outcrops with more precision and really feel at one with the Geopark coastline.
Who can do it…
Anyone who feels confident in the water. Experience in kayaking will help, however beginners can stick to shallow, sheltered waters and feel perfectly safe. You can hire a kayak at various different outlets and wet suits are usually provided so swimwear and trainers are all you need.
