Salcombe is a pretty coastal town located at the head of the Kingsbridge Estuary in South Devon. Its rambling roads and large houses are very evocative of Agatha Christie and indeed numerous television adaptations have been filmed in this part of the county including the 2007 adaptation of Towards Zero (where in the novel it's clear that Salt Creek is inspired by Salcombe) and the 1990 adaptation of Peril at End House.
