Not too far from her home in Torquay, the bleak and barren moorland of Dartmoor National Park provided inspiration for two of Agatha Christie's works. In fact, she completed her very first novel, The Mysterious Affair at Styles, at the Moorlands Hotel near Haytor. The Agatha Christie Literary Trail through the English Riviera and South Devon also points out Okehampton, Sittaford Tor and their surroundings, which feature in The Sittaford Mystery.
