Travel back in time aboard 'Barnaby', a 1947 vintage bus that will take you on an authentic 'jiggle jerk' ride to Greenway, Agatha Christie's holiday home on the banks of the River Dart. You'll travel along the Agatha Christie Mile in Torquay and through beautiful South Devon lanes accompanied by an informative commentary from the jolly driver. Greenway, now owned by the National Trust, offers an extraordinary glimpse into the private life of the much-loved author and her family.
When Greenway house is open, the classic green charabanc, picks up and drops off at Belgrave Road and Cary Parade in Torquay twice daily (peak season), and Paignton seafront twice daily (bus only available in mornings for Torquay & Paignton during February, March, October & November). The bus will also pick up at Brixham Museum and Churston Farm Shop near Brixham Park and Ride twice daily except during February, March, October & November. The bus is operated by Greenway Ferry Pleasure Cruises, who also run boat trips to the property from Torquay, Brixham and Dartmouth.
Both the bus and the boats operate during the opening days of Greenway. Tickets are available from the English Riviera Visitor Information Centre, Vaughan Parade (Torquay Harbourside). Booking is strongly advised as this is a very popular trip.
A Christmas Vintage Bus to Greenway House operates between 27th - 31st December 2013 from Torquay.
